I've had the sketch for this on my computer for over a year, but I've not been allowing myself to work on anything until I get those commissions done. Stupid idea I found cause it totally killed my muse and I ended up not drawing anything for months!

So when the muse tickled me this time I decided to run with it!

DoM: Portraits of the Ladies

I commissioned someone to draw portraits of my DoM (Dream of Me) Ladies and then realized it would be easier to just draw the faces for reference rather than describe them. So I got to work and this is the result! This is the first time I have drawn Eev and she looked very different in my head, but I like this so much better!

Not so happy with Cecile's face. For some reason I can't get it to look right. Same for Kaelee. They look too airbrushed but every time I work on it I find myself having to get rid of the edges... Maybe I need to start the coloring from scratch.

Love the way Tanea and Eev came out, though.

Wow, this one took ages, mostly because I am sooo busy at school right now.

I like it, but I feel that there is something missing in this piece! I've been sitting on this for ages but I just can't think of what it is that would give it that kick.

Anyhow, I still like it and I hope sailortachine likes it, too, since it is her character. :)

This is the first of four characters commissioned by “Sailortachine” of deviantART. They are all superheroines. I also stole the idea of those ink blobs as a background from a friend of a friend - I really like it!

This is part two of that bigger commission for burgerbecky. I had some trouble with the colors on this one. Yellow is a tricky one for me to add shadow!

This is part one of a bigger commission of two characters. And because I love Sailor Soldiers I offered to create a piece of each character individually in addition to the final piece. This is Sailor Sun and the next one will be Sailor Io. Based on the character description I chose to give her a certain masculine feel so yes, that was a conscious choice.

I went about coloring this in a different way this time. I sort of started with the background gradients, then added flats for the costume and then used a copy of the background for highlighting in dodge mode! She feels like she’s part of the environment more than any of my previous DoM girls did. Babysteps!

This is a character commissioned by Eran Aviani. I received two reference pictures for the costume and the information that she would mostly likely be striking a pose from a safe distance rather than get into a close combat, even though she is a capable fighter. This is what i came up with! I certainly had fun with the lighting!
